I realized I didn't talk much about the blog on Foodista. The headlines vary from "Another Infant Served Alcohol and Hospitalized" (that is horrible) to "The Perfect Hardboiled Egg" (spreading some Easter cheer) to "Introducing the 1160 Caloria Burger" (BK's The Meat Monster..gross). Of course anyone can post, but it seems like the same people post over and over again, which you all have talked about in your practicum projects, too. One of the people who constantly post is an Editorial Intern at Foodista. I never really thought of it as a business before. But, looking into it further I realized it is. They have a team that manages the site and investors, such as Amazon.

ReplyDeleteHow cool would that job be?! I was watching Bethenny Ever After over spring break and one of the episodes featured her and her favorite "foodie" going to a fair and trying all these different foods. She had intentions to hire him to keep up a blog for her (not sure whether or not that actually happened), and I think a lot of people with similar jobs to her are doing that these days! When you live such a busy lifestyle it's hard to keep up with each new social media site that comes up, so to have somewhat of a "ghostwriter" definitely comes in handy.
ReplyDeleteI actually watched Travel channel's Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern last night. Not only does he document every place he travels on camera, but he also keeps a written blog. It is definitely a way for him to break out of the mold of doing cable television: he is free to express all of his opinions that he wouldn't be able to do online. It is also beneficial in the sense of promoting other chefs, because he posts links and recipes on his blog.
