Personally I did not find this game addicting at all. The only seemingly interesting part to me was getting the different types of plants that killed the zombies in different ways. I have never heard of this specific game before but it reminds me of a game like Angry Birds which you can download onto your phone as well as play online. They are both mindless and don't benefit the player in any way. But somehow they seem to be addicting to some as the stakes get high with each level and some people just can't stop wanting to beat all the levels.
I do see online gaming remaining popular as more and more people play these games for diversion and entertainment when bored.
I disagree. I think the most addicting games are the most mindless and easiest to use. One of the articles we read for lecture today discussed a resurgence of gaming among adults who could not figure out how to use complicated new gaming systems, but found the easy-to-use Wii system addicting or fun. They could play mindless and easy games that they remembered from they childhood, like Pac Man, or ping pong, two very addicting games that are both easy enough for a 5 year old to figure out.
