This weekend I have spent a few hours on the Hypebeast.com online community. As I showed in my presentation, the site has many subsections ranging from clothing brands to photography. I have chosen to spend a few days in the denim category.
The section is mainly devoted to selvedge denim, which is unique because it fades over time. It is, therefore, an interesting thing to discuss because each pair of jeans fades differently for every person. Also, the longer you wear a pair, the more unique they become.
The section of the site has topics that relate to everything people need to know or want to see in regards to raw denim. The first section I visited is called "The evolution of denim," where users can post pictures of how their denim evolves over time. I really enjoy discussing and looking at other peoples pictures because, as I mentioned, every pair is so unique.
In addition to this thread, I have been involved in the Naked & Famous thread, which pertains to the brand of denim I am currently wearing. Here I have answered people's questions about the brand and styles. Taking on a pair of raw denim can be a big commitment because to get results you need to wear them constantly for a long period of time. So naturally people have a lot questions before spending time and money on a new pair of selvedge jeans.
