After searching my name on Google I am actually surprised at how well I have done in protecting my identity where necessary. The first item that appears in the Goolge search is my Twitter. All of my tweets are protected, so when I click on the link, all one can see is my Twitter profile picture. The second item that pops up is the other Peter Kadin’s Twitter. I have been friends with the other Peter Kadin on Facebook for a long time now and I know that he plays football. So most of the information that comes up on Google when I search my name are his football stats.
Otherwise, my Facebook privacy settings are completely locked, so my Facebook account does not even appear in a Google search. The last item I see on the first page of the Google search is this class blog.
I like the fact that I have covered my tracks on the internet pretty effectively so that the items I want people to see, like my LinkedIn, are seen and other items, like Facebook, are not seen. However, I wish there were more accolades or items on work I have done in the past in the Google search.
