Hi everyone! Since my practicum is on social networking, I had to join 3 different sites. The first one I joined (and my first post) was about a site called dailyphoto.com. The second site I joined was GoTryItOn.com (on the left is the first picture I uploaded on the site). I discovered this site from my roommate who is interning for the company. After joining the site, I had to make a short profile and tell a little bit about myself. Basically the purpose is to get reviews on your outfit before you wear it out. First you upload a picture of yourself with the outfit on, then type a short description about where your going (dinner, a night out, class, a casual day..), and finally you name the stores where you got each article of clothing. After you click "create", you get feedback from the other users on how it looks. The choices are "wear it", "change it", or if comparing between outfits "none of the choices". The site lets you know how many people voted and allows users to add comments. People sometimes send links to other options or additional accessories that would look good with the outfit. Another option allows you to upload 3 pictures and see which one people think looks best. Also, you can either "get an opinion" or "give an opinion". In giving an opinion, you observe others outfits and report constructive feedback. So far I haven't had a bad comment and people have been really helpful and honest. This site is great for when my roommates aren't home and I need an opinion fast. Now you may be wondering how people can respond in time if you need a response fast. Thats where my roommate comes into the picture. The site hires about 100 interns every semester to block out times to be on the site so that whenever a new picture is uploaded, they can give feedback right away. My roommate says she feels like a personal stylist because she is constantly searching online for added accessories and blazers that one could add to an outfit. Even when I think an outfit looks good, it always is nice to get a second, third, or even 50th opinion :)
