Practicum 7 - Kyle Woolwich

Here are some of the more interesting things I have seen from the Libyan activists:

I found this because some of the Twitter activists I'm following had linked to it. They were speculating that it could be some sort of secret code sent out over Twitter. However, I was unable to find any sort of solid confirmation one way or the other on what it actually is.

Also, a few days ago I saw one of the activists (who is one of the few whom I believe is actually inside a Libyan city) give a real time update through a tweet about multiple explosions. A few moments later, the information had been relayed by multiple other accounts that I follow, copying his tweet almost verbatim.

I also saw @ShababLibya tweet an image of an actual document that listed supplies that should be sent to Libya. Interestingly, it was in English. As a matter of fact, a strong majority of the online Libyan activists I have been able to find write in English. This is in opposition to the Egyptian activists, where most accounts and pages were in Arabic. Is this more proof that some of the activists are located outside of Libya, and trying to raise awareness from Libyans living outside of Libya?
