Practicum #5- Tony Porter

Played a little Xbox tonight after hearing the news about Osama bin Laden. A lot of players already knew about it. I thought it was quite ironic that I chose to play a game about war at a time like this but I mostly just wanted to hear what people were saying. I had a few intelligent conversations with people regarding the situation which was fun. It's really awesome the ease at which people can communicate with each other because of the internet. Even when we play games we are able to talk with people all over the world which I think is a great thing. There is talk about how technology today is causing our world to become dumber because all of the distractions it can offer. I think this might be true to an extent but all of these new technologies are fairly recent. People are still getting used to this stuff so you have to kind of wait and see to really know where were headed. Like we talked about in discussion, the future is hard to predict.
