Youtube and Hulu_Morgan Wille
I decided to look up similar subject on both youtube and hulu. Since i've never watched/viewed anything on hulu before it was interesting to check out the site. The person I looked up was daniel tosh from the show tosh.o. The main difference I noticed was that youtube had a lot of random videos from daniel tosh in no specific order or categorized any sort of way. Of course, there were the ones that were "most popular" but there were videos that were really crappy and ones with better quality. You never knew what you are going to get. Also, youtube really doesn't have a lot of advertisements. I like that you can comment if you scroll down under the video. On the other hand, hulu is more complicated. It makes it easier to find good quality videos, however there are more ads and the first tosh.o video I watched on there cut out after 2 minutes because I needed to be a "hulu plus subscriber" to watch more. Hulu seems like more of a site for people that actively want to watch tv shows online and are willing to pay money. Youtube is more of a site to check out short popular videos without a lot of commercials. Also, Youtube offers a bigger variety of content ranging from clips from tv shows to music videos to news stories. I feel that the users are different for each site, but they can also overlap. Furthermore, I wouldn't view youtube and hulu as competitors.
