Practicum#5-Norma

As I stated on my last practicum, I started to participate in a different way on queerattitude. I started sharing youtube videos, then quotes, and articles. All of these were positive and related to the struggles this community faces. I got good response in most of them, for some of them I didn't get any, but that was on the videos. People tend to respond mostly to relevant news either positive or negative. But good debates and responses come with articles that criticize the community or topics on religion. I have not seen any type of troller participation in this site as in Yahoo! I believe since Yahoo! is a more open forum without many protocols or rules to follow, it becomes a perfect, less complicated site to egage for trollers. It is great to see how active these community is in almost every way. Most of the feedback on creative art is positive, and in fact, they share amazing art work. Members would also share pictures of themselves, but it's rarely seen. There is also a space for blogging, but it's not as active as the forums and galleries.

  1. It's interesting that people didn't respond to the videos. As much as I'm happy that people are most responsive to relevant news, rather than related videos, I'm surprised since videos seem to be such a big source of information these days.
But on second thought, it makes sense that a community fighting for its rights is more keen to hear the most recent developments in news!
