I know I haven't blogged yet about Second Life, but it probably has to do with the fact that I hate it. Every time I log on, nobody wants to have a normal conversation with me, and I can never find a place that has more than ten or so people. Tonight, i went to a few places. First, I went to this dance club, but there was no one there except for a few pole dancers but they were performing for no one. Before I left, I tried to get on stage and copy them, but my avatar was not complying.
Next, I went to a world that told me I could adopt a dog and raise it. I walked in, and there was a woman avatar standing next to these crazy disproportionate dogs. I asked her nicely if I could have one, because according to the description of the world, I would be able to have a dog. She told me I couldn't have one because she had just given one away. I yelled at her via chat for about 5 minutes, and then she told me she had to leave and I could come back in "65 or 64 hours." I asked if that was in real time, and she left rudely. So, after being blown off by yet another avatar, I wandered around in dog world a little longer. I then found where the actual dogs are being sold. They are shown in little dog cages, and when you click on a box, it gives you a website like this- http://www.biobreeds.com/Pedigree.aspx?Id=3505
I couldn't really figure out how to navigate around the website, but I think it was telling me that I had to pay for a dog. After 10 more minutes of frustration, I ditched puppy land.
