Practicum #1- Tony Porter

I began playing Call of Duty: Black Ops on XBOX live today for my practicum. I've had an account for a couple years and I play from time to time. I usually just play with friends or by myself but I never really interacted with the community that much. You get a microphone headset when you buy an Xbox so I have one but I didn't use it that much. Now that I am doing this project, I plan on using the mic more often to interact with other players and see what the Live experience is all about. I played for a couple of hours today. I was a little shy today and didn't initiate much conversation. My Gamertag is TPOT952. My nickname is TPOT; I don't really remember why but I got it and it has some similar letters to my name. 952 is my hometown area code and my gamertag ws born. A few people sang the "I'm a little teapot" song when they saw it which was kind of funny. I noticed that some people are interested in the names of people and ask people about them. I tried to see a trend in types of names which I will probably pay attention to more to see if there is a pattern. The different types i've seen are ones with variations of real names; ones about a particular game; ones that were pretty funny puns; and weird random names that I couldn't really decipher a type. I didn't really have a annoying people or people trying to troll but I am definitely expecting it eventually. I am done playing for the day but I will probably play for some time tomorrow.
