So I'm still involved with the movie discussion forum "Chasing the Frog" and last night I found something interesting that we had talked about in class. A new member named JoeJoeJoe was being attacked by all of the older "established" members for using the forum as a tool for his college class (uh oh). He had asked a question about why average looking women are always upstaged by better looking counter parts in film, when someone gave him some guff for joining "their" community for only a one time post. It became worse when JoeJoeJoe got defensive and started to brag about himself. At that point the entire community began to ostracize him over the course of several hours. Below is a snap shot of one of the responses JoeJoe Joe received in response to his involvement.

If the picture is a little blurry here is the text:
Quote: “suggests you go on a message board and get other peoples opinions Well I think you’ve got ours now.
Rather than waste anymore of our or your time I suggest you leave it there and try to join another forum where perhaps you’ll find fellow ‘media studies’ *cough*notarealsubject*cough*students more sympathetic to your aims….
Anyway, It was an interesting development and something that fell in line with the community presentations.
