Like my previous post, I decided to look back on another Wiki that I came across when I first started looking into them for this assignment. The Harry Potter Wiki looks like a lot of other pop culture wikis. It seems that it is connected to a network called Wikia, which according to the site, "are written by community members that are passionate about subjects ranging from video games, TV shows and movies to food, fashion, and environmental sustainability." The site also says the biggest communities are in gaming and entertainment, such as World of Warcraft and the Marvel Database Project. On the Harry Potter Wiki besides informative posts about characters and events, die-hard fans discuss rumors and upcoming news about DVD release etc. One fan starts a post discussing whether or not Severus Snape is a vampire and who people feel are their favorite HP couples.
That is crazy that they have a Harry Potter wiki. I haven't looked it up, but I hear there is also a pretty intense Star Wars Wiki. I wonder what else is next.
