I have not been on MySpace since probably middle school. And, even then, I was not a huge fan. I saw it as a place for another flaunting of middle school drama and popularity. Also, I remember people adding crazy backgrounds and music and glitter, which I was never tech-saavy enough to do to my own profile.
Today, MySpace seems like a much different place then it was in my middle school days. I see its advantages for famous-hopefuls (ie. Tila Tequila) and musicians.
I don't remember my old username and password (and honestly, am too scared to find my 13 year-old self's profile), so I did not go on my page. The profiles I did see had a lot of bathroom mirror pictures and old-school emoticons/glitter. It seems too cluttered to me, and I don't really see the appeal to it. Facebook makes more sense--but obviously I am biased since I use it. However, I do like its music-focus. It can be another outlet to find out news on your favorite bands or get into new ones. There are also a lot of new features added since my middle school days. For example, the "Topics" page seems like a wiki that connects people to articles written by users. Despite these new features, I think I will stick to Facebook.
