This week I unlocked the “Local” badge on FourSquare. The “Local” badge means I have checked into one place more than three times in one week. For me, this was Grainger. In addition to obtaining a new badge, I downloaded the new software which FourSquare released last week. Now FourSquare has a cleaner look, with rounded edges on every button and former corners. However, the most interesting new feature is the “Add Photo” option. Similar to Twitter, I can now add a photo to wherever I am checking in to. I tested this out last night when I was at the Shell.
On Tuesday night I went to a concert at the Majestic and it was interesting to see how many people were also checked in. I can see their profiles, add them as friends or send a note. I am going to start utilizing this feature more so I can see who is in the same building as I am and possibly add them as a friend.
