Practicum #2- Holly

The other day I spent a couple hours filling in more information on my website. I added a photo album that features pictures of my friends and family along with captions. I added a link to my dad's real estate website, which shows a tiny picture preview of his site on mine. I created several content boxes on my interests page, which include my favorite books, music, film, and television. Most importantly, I added my resume to my homepage. This took the longest amount of time because the sitebuilder doesn't allow you to copy/paste anything into the content boxes. So I had to create several content boxes and fill them in with the information from my resume by switching back and forth between my homepage and my resume document, which was pretty annoying. On the left is a screenshot of what it looked like when I was filling in the content boxes for my resume. I am hoping the time-consuming work will pay off and my resume will be the most important aspect of my website. It is my home page, so it's the first thing anyone sees when they come to my site. I plan to put my website up on facebook so my friends can access it, but I also want it to be accessible to potential employers. I plan to add it to my Koda profile (which is an online profile given to members of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars) so I can receive better internship and job opportunities.

  1. Hey Holly..looks great so far! Just wondering, what is the link to your homepage? Also, what is its purpose? Are you trying to give people advice on a certain topic, blog about your life, or just give another place to go to find out more about you? (or something else if none of those things are right...)
