MySpace
I went on MySpace for the first time since I was 15, and was surprised that it is pretty much the same as when I left. It just seems very crude in comparison to Facebook of which I am a member. I don't use Facebook that often, but I use it to keep in touch with friends that don't live in Madison. Its format is very easy to use and aesthetically pleasing. Its easy to log on, do what I want to do and get off. MySpace just felt awkward and seemed to load slower because of all the flashy backgrounds and songs people can have on their profiles. I also think it's slow because everything is put on to one page as opposed to Facebook which uses tabs and separate pages for profiles. I thought the how you are feeling emoticons were pretty dumb too. I didn't really browse too much of the site to see its full potential, but it seemed like a good source for bands and celebrity news. I think the pages for the bands are pretty useful for getting samples of music and checking out tour dates, but you can do that on other sites. I don't really see the draw to MySpace, but judging from the pictures of guys flexing and trying to look badass and the pictures of girls giving kissy faces and peaking out from underneath their bangs, it seems like a site for people maybe looking to get laid.
