blog #4

I've Googled myself in the past, but hadn't done it in awhile so it was interesting to see what had changed! In the past, Googling myself would come up with swim meet and triathlon results and a few other high school-related things. Now, links to my Twitter, Vimeo, and LinkedIn accounts showed up on the first page of results. I use all of those mainly for professional purposes so it's nice that they come up! I also added my website URL to Google the other day (as explained in class) so that shows up as well.

There are a few websites that I have never been to that come up with my name - sites to find people from your past (I think that type of thing shows up on everyone's Google search for their name). Next, a few results come up from Facebook groups that I used to be a part of (ones where I wrote on the walls). Even though I had deleted my posts long ago, Google keeps them cached (annoying). This blog comes up as a result, then finally my swim and triathlon results come up. Throughout those pages my name pops up randomly under other people's names (example below). Otherwise there weren't really any surprises!
