Youtube Video Response

I thought the youtube video did a great job at showing us the history of the internet and how it has transformed into what it is today. Although I had to watch it a couple times to grasp all the information, it did a great job at explaining it. It's interesting that it went through so many changes (from military use to everyday people, from switchboards that only allowed certain places to exchange information to a virtual cyberspace, from ARPANET to NSFNET, from only used for emailing to research information/communication/facebook). If computers have changed from the big desktops 5 years ago to small netbooks/laptops/ipad today, it is boggling my mind to think of what another 5 years will bring or even another 10. Also, I found it cool that another blogger wondered if the inventor of the internet had any idea of the impact it would have on the world- I definitely agree and wonder the same thing. If there was not a military need for it at the time, would someone have still had the idea?
