youtube response
The accent of the narrator definitely made the internet sound a lot more boring than it actually is. On a serious note, I do think it is really interesting to learn that the development of the internet, was based off of not wanting researchers to have the same researcher. Following this came the military network, the commercial network, and the scientific network, laying the groundwork for the internet. The idea of packet switching, dividing bigger information into smaller pieces to avoid congestion, seems like a basic idea that every internet user should be aware of, but it was interesting to learn that for the first time. I also thought it was cool that the reason they had to stop the centralized model was actually for military reasons. I appreciate now that the word internet, actually means inter-networks, which stemmed from a France issue of having not a big enough budget to have a big intra network connection.
