Like Norma, I also had to watch this twice to really understand it! Like I just tweeted...there were way too many acronyms to take it all in after just one viewing. Aside from the initial confusion I find it amazing how far we've come from batch processing - it's incredible what kind of things we can create out of fear (of the Cold War and the missiles found in Cuba). It definitely makes sense that the ideas of science, militarism, and commercialism came together to create the idea of Internet (or ARPANET at the time). There were so many obstacles to overcome to finally reach what we know as the Internet today - it really makes you appreciate it much more.
