The Series of Tubes

I would have rather listened to Morgan Freeman narrate but the British accent wasn't bad. What really disappointed me is still not knowing where Al Gore comes in! Aside from that bit of crucial info I thought the video was very informative at covering the basics of the development of the internet. What still fascinates me is how it was able to grow without years and years of competing technologies and codes (or maybe it did and I just don't know) to what it is today. It's crazy to think how far we've come in the last 40-50 years. I can't imagine living without the constant stream of information (available through my phone, laptop, TV etc...) and can't wait to be confounded by the "next big thing" (just like Senator Ted Stevens). Hopefully it will be some sort of virtual reality world like in The Matrix (4 and 5 are on the way if you haven't heard yet).
