Practicum #4- Dan Tochen

So i continue my hunt to find out just exactly old people are doing on the internet these days. I decided to continue with my theme of looking for companionship in the elder age group. I visited a website called "suddenlysenior.com". basically this website gives advice to recent divorces. There are multiple links to click on for information. it is more of a column than an actual dating service. There is a link for jokes, and a forum to share stories for example. Judging by the website name, it aims to help people to have recently realized that they are "old". Their slogan is "a place for everyone who's become senior before their time." The website contains a forum for the elderly to talk to one another. the topics range from diet and recipes to medicare and medicaid to nostalgia. one of the most viewed threads is the joke forum. the most viewed/ popular joke is a story about senior citizen activities. Working people frequently ask retired people whatthey do to make their days interesting.

Well, for example, the other day, Mary my wife and Iwent into town and visited a shop.

When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.

We went up to him and I said, 'Come on, man,how about giving a senior citizen a break?'

He ignored us and continued writing the ticket.

I called him an “a--h---.” . He glared at me and startedwriting another ticket for having worn-out tires.

So Mary called him a “s--- head”. He finished thesecond ticket and put it on the windshield with the first.

Then he started writing more tickets.
This went on for about 20 minutes.
The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Just then our bus arrived, and we got on itand went home.

We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired.

It's important at our age.

These are the kid of jokes shared on the website. Not exactly funny towards younger age groups right? However this is another website that proves that slowly but surely there is a growing population of senior citizens on the internet, however as people age it is due to happen.
