Practicum #3 - Paul Puglisi

I've tried to get into the MMO-type games that Kongregate has to offer, but they aren't really my style. I couldn't quite getthe hang of them and many of the players would not help me to learn. So I've been sticking to the more casual, light-hearted games. On the gamepages, there is a chat feature where you can talk to anybody that is currently playing that game. This can be useful if there's a particular part ofa game that you can't get past. However, whenever I try to talk to anybody on the chat feature, I get very little response. This could be because the chat is one of three tabs that can be on the side of the game, so perhaps not everyone has the chat feature in their viewable tab. Or maybe people are too focused on the game to interact. I feel with these casual games there is a lower level of interaction than with a more intense, MMO-type game.

I've been trying to earn badges, because in talking to several of the members in the multiplayer games, that is the main thing they enjoy about the site. They enjoy the sense of accomplishment they get from earning a badge. Earning a badge requires a decent amount of time spent on one game. I've been trying to play as many games as possible so I don't have that many badges. However, I do have most of my beginner badges and I've gained points for doing so. None of this really excites me all that much, but I guess that's what I'm supposed to be doing.
