Hulu Vs. Youtube

I think it is difficult to compare Hulu to Youtube, because they have a very different target audience and serve completely different purposes. If I wanted to watch a recent episode of 30 rock, I would 100% go to Hulu for a high quality viewing. If I wanted to see a compilation of Liz Lemon's funniest moments, I would go to Youtube. Although Hulu does have clips, it is much harder to find what you're looking for, and there is not as many options. I also use youtube when I want to watch clips of old shows, for example, Full House. I love to go on Youtube and watch funny clips of Full House that bring back childhood memories, but Hulu hardly has old shows. When I typed in Full House on Hulu, they had a few Bob Saget interviews, and a "biography on Michelle Tanner." All the content found on Hulu is much more professional than the content on Youtube.

  1. I would definitely agree that Hulu and YouTube have different target audiences. Although YouTube is a huge website and gets way more views than Hulu, Hulu has more of a purpose. Many people go on YouTube just to watch random videos or see if they could possibly find a specific video. With Hulu, most viewers go their with a purpose. They intend to watch a specific show from a specific time.
