Computer Interactions- Blog 7
Throughout a typical day I interact with computers quite a bit. First, at work, I use a computer almost the entire time. I work at the DoIT techstore and I receive shipments in and transfer product to the store electronically. I have to bring the new products into our system electronically and then transfer them based on where they are going. They could go to our store in Comp Sci, out at HSLC at the hospital, or directly to a customer that ordered it. Next, I am on my phone a lot. Whether it is just playing games, looking up a fact to resolve a dispute or just looking at facebook, I am constantly using the computer in my phone. I also use a computer to surf the web and take notes during classes as well as surfing the web at night. Another thing that uses a computer is my Xbox which I use for the networked gaming practicum project. I think it is amazing how much people are dependent on technology compared to before. It seems like younger people like our class take this for granted because as soon as we lose our phone or computer we literally don't know what to do. I sometimes wonder to myself, "How did my parents find out where to go without an iPhone?" Then I dismiss that thought because it doesn't offer me any help with my Words with Friends app and I am really close to beating my roommate.
