Practicum Reddit Seth

I had never been on reddit very much before. I have a roommate who's big into digg and reddit, and he would show me some funny or intersting things every once in a while, but I didn't really understand that reddit is more than a bookmarking site, it's an online community. There doesn't seem to be any one type of person on reddit, but the site is split up by interests. There are various meems and topics that people can post links that they found and people can comment on them. Some posts are questions or just stories that encourage discussion. Some questions are funny, but some are serious. One guy asked if anyone could help him deal with his young son coping with his mother having terminal cancer. Some people answer the question seriously, others poke fun of the situation. Some posts are just crudely drawn comics which are favorite because theyre usually just everyday relatable situations that turn out funny. The humor seems to be the real unifying point of the web community as it's generally crude, obscene, or cynical. There is a lot of counter culture and weed culture based posts as well. There definitely seems to be something for everyone though as the politics board is a mix of all political voices. People post articles or original thoughts and opinions and promote discussion. I like reddit a lot because no matter what kind of mood I'm in, I can find something to check out.
