The Invention of the Internet

While watching this video on the History of the Internet I was amazed how far we have come since things such as batch processing and packet switching which before viewing this video I did not know existed. I also found it interesting that the original use for the Internet was for purely military purposes at first because it was a more controlled system and information could be kept private. But now today in this day and age with the Internet there are hackers and ways in which people can obtain information through others computers and the Internet seeing how it really has evolved past its original purpose. It is also interesting to note how the use of the internet has gone from something completely serious for military use even for business use to almost something mindless such as Facebook and YouTube. Not to say everything done through the Internet is mindless but the evolution in its uses is truly remarkable. It will be interesting to see in another ten to twenty years how the Internet advances even further with the rapid rate of technological advances in this day and age.
